Meet The Photographer
Hi, I’m Mekinsey, lead photographer at Eleven Paws. I am a professional San Diego dog photographer, inspired by my own pack — Harvey, Murphy, and Lemon. After years of photographing all kinds of subjects, I found my true passion: capturing dogs and the special bond they share with their people.
Two years ago, I opened my first studio in the PNW, and in 2025, I brought Eleven Paws to San Diego. My private, pet-friendly studio is designed for stress-free, joyful sessions that celebrate your furry friends — from puppies to seniors, and even your whole family together.
Welcome! I can’t wait to capture your dog’s personality and the love you share.
Love + Paws,

Not to worry — many pets are! Please share any behavior notes on your intake form so I can plan accordingly. The studio is designed to be a calm, positive environment, and sessions move at your pet’s pace. Your dog will be the only dog on the property and in the studio during their session. The studio sits on private property with a fully fenced outdoor area, giving us a safe, quiet space to help your dog feel comfortable and stress-free.

That’s entirely up to you! I want your dog to look their best — but also natural to their everyday look. A light grooming or brushing is always a good idea, especially to keep their coat smooth and eyes free of stains or hair. If you regularly use a groomer, scheduling a visit a few days before the session can help them look fresh while still feeling like themselves.
-
No worries at all! I’m very patient during sessions and always work at your dog’s pace. If they’re energetic or extra wiggly — that’s totally fine! Those big personalities often make for the best photos. Don’t stress about perfect behavior — these sessions are meant to be fun, relaxed, and enjoyable for everyone.
-
You’re welcome to bring your dog’s favorite toys or treats — anything that helps get their attention or makes them feel at ease. I also have plenty of treats, squeakers, and noisemakers available at the studio. If you’d like to include props in your photos (like bandanas, outfits, or signs), feel free to bring those too! Personal touches always make the session more special and unique to your dog.
-
Yes! While dogs are the heart of Eleven Paws Studio, I’m happy to photograph other pets too. Cats, birds, reptiles, and other small animals are always welcome — I’ll do my best to accommodate them safely and comfortably in the studio.
If you’re interested in equine photography or larger animals, please reach out to discuss location options and session details. -
Your session fee includes up to 40 minutes of studio time, the photographer’s creative direction, and a private online proofing gallery to view and purchase images. Session fees do not include digital images, prints, or products, which are sold separately.
